
Petra Priscilla Tjandra
Soprano
Petra Tjandra was born in Berlin and grew up in Indonesia. She began piano lessons at the age of five and discovered her love for singing early on, officially starting her vocal training at the age of seven.
In 2017, she commenced her Bachelor's degree at the Musikhochschule Lübeck, majoring in Music Pedagogy with a focus on Voice under Isabel Schaarschmidt, and specializing in Elementary Music Pedagogy under Prof. Marno Schulze.
In February 2024, she completed her Master's degree at the University of the Arts Bremen (Hochschule für Künste). Her studies there focused on Elementary Music Pedagogy with Prof. Barbara Stiller and a specialization in Early Music Performance (Voice) with Bettina Pahn. She was a recipient of DAAD scholarships in 2020 and 2022 and has participated in numerous masterclasses in both vocal performance and music pedagogy.
Petra works as a children's choir director at the Martin-Luther-Kirche Alsterdorf and as a music educator at the Landesjugendmusikschule Hamburg. She is also a music educator for the "Singende Kindergärten" (Singing Kindergartens) project initiated by dm. She is deeply passionate about singing and working with children, dedicating herself to providing them with beautiful musical experiences throughout their childhood.
